Title:
St Issui, Partrishow

Author:

Description:
Denomination: Anglican
Address: Partrishow, Powys
Listing: Grade I

This eleventh century church sits on a hillside above the Grwyne Fawr River. It is named after a Celtic saint who is said to have built a cell here. A side chapel is said to be this cell, where Issui was buried. The font also has an inscription from 1055. Re-ordered in the fourteenth century, a superb wooden rood screen and loft are said to be among the finest pieces of medieval art in Wales.

Disgrifiad:
Enw: Sant Issui, Partrisio
Enwad: Anglicanaidd
Lleoliad: Partrisio, Powys
Rhestru: Gradd I

Saif yr eglwys hon o'r unfed ganrif ar ddeg ar lethr uwchben Afon Grwyne Fawr. Cafodd ei henwi ar ôl sant Celtaidd y dywedir iddo adeiladu cell yma. Mae'n debyg mai capel ystlys yw'r gell hon, lle y claddwyd Issui. Mae gan y bedyddfaen arysgrif o 1055. Wedi'u haildrefnu yn y bedwaredd ganrif ar ddeg, mae croglen ac oriel wych ymhlith yr enghreifftiau gorau o gelfyddyd ganoloesol yng Nghymru.
