St Bleddian dates from the twelfth century, one of the few churches here that was a place of worship before the Norman conquest. The west tower has a saddleback roof, common to this area of Glamorgan. The Norman font barrel-shaped font survives, as does an unusual hexagonal holy water stoop. The sixteenth century Tudor chapel is known as the Button Chapel, for the Button family who are thought to be buried here.
